Located on groomed access trails in phase 1 of Powder Ridge. Anticipated opening date for White Otter lift is mid December, but the lift may open earlier in the season depending on snow conditions. The lift typically closes in mid April, prior to resort closing. The cabin is not ski-in/out when White Otter Lift is not running. Please inquire for details.
Ski Out:
Put skis on by the side of the cabin and ski the groomed access trail that drops to the White Otter Lift. This starts flat and will require skating or poling. Follow this trail along the White Otter chair lift to load. Exit White Otter Lift and turn left. Cross to the right of White Wing Run and follow the sign on skier’s right for Big Sky Base Area. This is a hard right and requires keeping up your speed. (Green access)
Ski In:
Follow Lower Morningstar to the SECOND set of Powder Ridge signs. Follow the signs towards the White Otter Access. Cross over the White Otter skier access bridge. At the end of the bridge turn right and then follow until you cross under White Otter Chair lift. You will pass several groups of cabins on your left. Continue toward the White Otter Lift station and exit at the sign that says Powder Ridge Cabins with a small sign for cabins 1-7. Stay straight at the split and the trail will bring you behind your cabin. 6th on the right.

We stayed for a week in the powder ridge cabins. This was an ideal spot for skiing, with ski in ski out access, a green house to hang out in, hot tub for apres, and easy access to the mountain village.

Property Manager: The Moose Ridge cabins were amazing and very well maintained and clean. The property was stocked with essentials, plenty of room to sprawl, with easy access to all outdoor activities Big Sky has to offer. Views of Lone Peak, other mountains, and wildlife including moose, were beautiful from inside and outside cabin. Hot tub was drained and cleaned prior to our arrival. We really enjoyed our stay.- Dorene , Posted:

Property: The property is even better in person than the photos show! Was very comfortable for 2 families. Our family consisted of 2 children and 3 adults and we had plenty of room! This property is also in a great location. Kirsten was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area and the ski mountain. Thanks Kirsten and staff!! Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.- Jen , Posted:

Property: We absolutely loved our time spent in Big Sky at Powder Ridge! The cabin was well-stocked and we spent every night sitting around the fire (the fact that firewood was included was fantastic). We put the grill to good use and found everything we needed in the kitchen. We were also impressed with the board games and coloring available for the little kids. The property was extremely clean and is very well managed (when there was a minor problem with the television it was fixed within an hour!). The ski-out was too much of a challenge for our youngest skiers (age 4 and 6) but wasn't a problem for the more experienced skiers. Checking in and out was a breeze. We would highly recommend the cabin and look forward to staying there again.- Susan , Posted:

My family had a wonderful time skiing at Big Sky, and loved the accommodations. This was our first time staying at a remote property, and we thoroughly enjoyed Power Ridge. The cabin was a good size for 5 adults, and it was very well appointed. The fire place was awesome, the hot tub was a hit and the beds were very comfortable after a long day of skiing. The ski-out was fine using the White Otter lift however, the ski-in was a little dicey for a few of our skiers, given there was no new snow and the hill was skied off. Other than that, everything was perfect!- Jeanne W , Posted:

We enjoyed staying in moose lodge. We had been in hotel for a couple night while traveling so getting to the lodge was nice. It was spacious for our family of 5 and enjoyed the out door space and even used the grill and hot tub one evening!- Kristina B , Posted:

Great choice for a family of 5 - ample space, good location and comfortable. Tough skate to the lifts, but doable. Big Sky struggles with Holiday demand so it was good to have our own kitchen- restaurants were not really a choice.- Jon Y New York , Posted:

This was our first trip to Big Sky and it was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was exceptional - quaint, easily accommodated our party of four, the fireplace was awesome and we were thrilled that there was plenty of firewood. We especially appreciated that the hot tub was emptied and cleaned prior to our arrival - a nice little touch! The ski in/ski out access was fantastic, and although it required a small amount of skating to get to the chair, I'll take this kind of access any day. Future renters should make sure they're OK with skating a small distance as well as handling a fairly steep drop to return to the cabin. The property management folks were very professional, kept us informed as the trip approached and came over to check on us during our first night. The living room TV was excellent - nice HD! Overall, it was an excellent cabin and experience and we'll be back next year.- Marti N , Posted:

Property: Great little cabin- This was a GREAT little cabin for our group of 6. Ski in and basically ski out (was a bit of a pole to the lift base) and walking distance to the base. Didn't use a car the whole time we were there. Cabin has a fireplace and a hot tub, as well as traditional log architecture.- DangerMouse77 , Posted:

Property: My wife and I travel quite a bit, Hawaii, Cabo were the big trips this year, Disney over Christmas, so we have a pretty good idea of what we like and don't like, and since we had 800 miles to talk about big sky we did. And we kept talking about how well it worked, but it was centered around the lodging. It was nice and just the little things like the caramels were nice touches from Big Sky Rentals. The key to the trip was the lodging. It was fabulous. The location is just minutes from Base Camp for skiing, the view was great. This list can go on and and on. The one thing I would recommend is take advantage of Kirsten's knowledge of the area and other services that Big Sky (The community) has to offer. We stayed close to the cabin for meals as I didn't want to drive at night. But local transportation was available. Kirsten mentioned, but I never followed up. I found out about Powder Ridge by word of mouth and I will spread the good word. Kent- Kent B , Posted:

We really liked this cabin and it's accessibility to the ski hill and the lifts. This is a ski in ski out cabin and only requires a very short walk up a small hill to access the base of White Otter Lift. Make sure to catch the cat track on the right hand side of White Wing run to get to the main Chairlift (Swift). We loved the fireplace, the hot tub, and the large kitchen table. We have stayed in several VRBO properties over the years and Cabin 7 was stocked the best by far. There were quite a few basic staples, laundry soap, great serving dishes and utensils, crock pot etc. Loved the views of the mountains from this cabin. We liked the house. We found it convenient that it contained many of the basics - coffee/coffee filters, paper towels, soap for the washer - the little stuff we often don't think of when traveling so it felt more like home. The decor was mountain like and fun with a true log cabin feel. The overall quality was good. Kristin and her team were very easy to work with and available whenever we needed them. The ski in/ski out status s a bit marginal for all the homes in the Powder Ridge area (not just this one). In order to ski out, you have to hike probably 50 yards, then ride a real estate lift and ski to the base which can involve another 50-100 yards of poling, takes about 20 minutes to reach the base. Sking in is a bit easier but has to be done by going to the , especially if there is fresh snow - you may have to pole maybe 50 yards or so depending on the snow condition. Still, it beat driving, parking, and lugging around ski gear BUT not like skiing out the back of the hotel either. Overall, I would consider staying there again as our family appreciates a house or condo over being cramped in a hotel room any day!- Anonymous , Posted:

The cabin was a good size for 5 adults, and it was very well appointed. The fire place was awesome, the hot tub was a hit and the beds were very comfortable after a long day of skiing. The ski-out was fine using the White Otter lift however, the ski-in was a little dicey for a few of our skiers, given there was no new snow and the hill was skied off. Other than that, everything was perfect!- Big Sky Skiers , Posted:

The property is even better in person than the photos show! Was very comfortable for 2 families. Our family consisted of 2 children and 3 adults and we had plenty of room! This property is also in a great location. Kirsten was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area and the ski mountain. Thanks Kirsten and staff!! Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.- Jennifer K Montana , Posted:

Great cabin! Very close to the otter lift with trails near by for walking. A short walk to the great restaurants at the base. Excellent stay.- Bryan D , Posted:

My wife and I travel quite a bit, Hawaii, Cabo were the big trips this year, Disney over Christmas, so we have a pretty good idea of what we like and don't like, and since we had 800 miles to talk about big sky we did. Kent- kent b fargo , Posted:
